| What makes a portfolio site different from any other web site? Well for one thing it's about the images. You want to have clean crisp images which download quickly. That's why we optimize your images for you. More importantly it's about *your* images. Web design elements are kept to a minimum so that the focus remains on your work. When we add "wiz bang" elements they are content driven- like the quicktime movies in Palazzo Lighting Design which show the participants POV walking through trade show exhibits.
The web isn't static. Neither are our designs. Our web pages don't just sit there they're "liquid" and flow to fill the viewers window. The basic design elements of clear navigation, simplicity, and browser consistency are essential to a good surfing experience. That's what "keeping it simple" is all about. Our objective is not for people to say, "Oh what a great web site!" Our objective is for people to say, "Wow! Your art work is terrific!" |
